Podcast Announcement
As mentioned in our new Potluck episode, we’re changing up the format of Pod Appétit. Let’s expand on a couple of reasons why and what we plan to do:
You’ve probably noticed that Amanda and Lj haven’t been able to join us as often recently (due to life events). They are still very much a part of the podcast, we’re all still pals, and we miss their voices as much as you do!
Secondly, though we love to cover entire seasons of shows like The Great British Bake Off, our recording and release schedules simply don’t allow us to be as topical as we would like.
So we’re going to pivot a bit:
Expect more Reddit Talks and guest interviews on the podcast. We love chatting with chefs, cookbook authors, and internet personalities; you love tuning in; everyone wins.
Instead of covering whole seasons of shows, we might discuss an episode or two closer to the air date (while everyone’s still excited about it). Imagine something similar to our current “Back Burner” segment, which includes all kinds of food media.
Of course, we’re a food podcast! In addition to our “What We’ve Been Cooking” segment and seasonal potlucks, we’re going to incorporate more food-focused content like short videos, holiday specials, etc.
With this restructuring, we’ll be more agile behind the scenes. This will allow Amanda and Lj to more easily jump on the mic whenever possible and allow us to bring you fresher, more varied content.
We’re taking a short break to iron out this new format, but you can expect us back in your ears on Feb. 27 (if not sooner).
Since we’re revamping the podcast, now is the perfect time for you to chime in! What do you love? What could you do without? What new content would you like to see? Who do you want us to interview? What food media do you want to hear more about? Would you like to interact with us through livestreams or chat?
Let us know in the comments!
